Early start to the Giza Plateau. Your private Egyptologist guide covers the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, the panoramic viewpoint, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple of Khafre. After lunch, the Grand Egyptian Museum (opened November 2025, directly adjacent to the Plateau): 100,000+ artefacts, the complete Tutankhamun collection together for the first time, the Royal Mummies Hall, the Grand Staircase with its 87 colossal statues. Three hours minimum inside the GEM. Back to the hotel to prepare for the early departure tomorrow. Overnight in Cairo.

After breakfast and hotel check-out, transfer to Cairo Airport for the domestic flight to Luxor — 75 minutes in the air, and everything changes. Luxor is an open-air museum: the ancient temples are not behind fences or in parks, they are embedded in the living city. Your guide meets you at Luxor Airport. You board the Nile Cruise ship first (cabins from noon), then head to Karnak Temple in the afternoon — 100 hectares of hypostyle halls, obelisks, sacred lakes and pylons, the largest ancient religious complex ever built. Luxor Temple in the early evening as the light softens: still embedded in the city, its entrance flanked by a sphinx avenue, a mosque built inside its walls. Morning on the West Bank — the side of the Nile the ancient Egyptians reserved for the dead, because the sun sets here. The Valley of the Kings: 63 royal tombs cut into the limestone cliffs of the Theban Necropolis, including Tutankhamun, Ramesses II, Seti I, Merenptah and Ramesses VI. Three tombs included; your guide selects the best combination for the day. Then the Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir el-Bahari), rising in three colonnaded terraces against the sheer desert cliff — architecturally unlike anything else in Egypt. The Colossi of Memnon on the return: two seated quartzite statues of Amenhotep III, 18 metres tall, guarding the site of a mortuary temple that was once larger than Karnak. Early morning arrival at Edfu. The Temple of Horus at Edfu is the best-preserved ancient temple in Egypt — Ptolemaic, structurally complete with intact roof sections, detailed reliefs covering every surface inside and out, and the original black granite naos (sacred shrine) still in position in the inner sanctuary. A horse-drawn calèche carries you from the dock through Edfu town to the temple entrance. In the afternoon the ship continues south through increasingly dramatic scenery towards Kom Ombo, arriving in the early evening. Overnight: Nile Cruise moored Kom Ombo ·

Morning at the Temple of Kom Ombo — uniquely doubled, dedicated simultaneously to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus, with two of everything: two entrances, two hypostyle halls, two sanctuaries. The carved medical instruments on the rear wall (forceps, scalpels, surgical tools, 2,000 years old) are one of the most striking details at any Egyptian site. A small crocodile museum on site contains mummified crocodiles excavated nearby. The ship then makes the final southward sail to Aswan, arriving in the late afternoon. Aswan is the southernmost point of this journey and the most Nubian city in Egypt — quieter, warmer in character, and set against the Nile at its widest and most beautiful. After breakfast on board, sightseeing begins: the Aswan High Dam (completed 1971, formed Lake Nasser behind it), the Unfinished Obelisk in its quarry (showing precisely how 3,500-year-old stonemasons worked before this one cracked and was abandoned), and Philae Temple — dedicated to the goddess Isis, relocated stone by stone to Agilkia Island before the reservoir filled, now reached by a short motorboat crossing through still water. Disembark and transfer to Aswan Airport. The domestic flight returns you to Cairo in time for the night. Overnight: Cairo hotel.
