• Always start the Pyramids before 8am. By 10am the plateau is crowded and hot. At 7am you can stand at the base of the Great Pyramid with almost no one else present.
• Book GEM tickets in advance. The Grand Egyptian Museum now requires timed entry. Your Best Nile Cruises guide handles this as part of your tour booking.
• Saqqara is underrated. Most Cairo day tours skip Saqqara for the Pyramids. Ahmed recommends combining both — Saqqara is less visited, just as extraordinary, and the Step Pyramid of Djoser is older than the Great Pyramid.
• Use Uber between sites. Your private vehicle handles all transfers. Never get into an unmetered taxi independently at any tourist site.
