Royal Beaurivage Nile Cruise 2026 — Honest Review, Itinerary & Prices
Ahmed's honest take: The Royal Beaurivage is unlike any other ship in our budget fleet in one specific way: it was designed to be beautiful, and you can see it the moment you walk on board. The lobby stops people. A full-height stained-glass mosaic ceiling lit from above, LED columns rising through the atrium, a sweeping staircase — this is not a typical budget cruise ship lobby. It is the interior of a ship that someone thought hard about. The full renovation in September 2022 brought ultra-modern styling throughout, LED beam lighting on the exterior that glows on the Nile at night, and the technology that makes the Royal Beaurivage genuinely unique: voice-controlled smart cabins, marketed as the first on the Nile. You speak to your cabin. It adjusts the AC, switches on the TV, controls the lights, and takes your room service order through a mobile app. Whether that matters to you depends on what kind of traveller you are. What will matter to almost everyone: the cabins have bathtubs, slide-open panoramic windows, 300+ channel FHD television, and more space and finish than you would expect at this price. The Lady Lilly Bar with its dance floor, the pool on the sundeck garden, and the 5-star restaurant with arabesque woodwork and chandeliers complete a ship that earns its description as ultra-modern.
Quick Facts — Royal Beaurivage Nile Cruise
Is the Royal Beaurivage Worth It?
Yes — especially if you care about how a ship looks and feels. The September 2022 renovation was comprehensive and it shows. The stained-glass mosaic lobby ceiling is one of the most striking interiors on the Nile at any price point. The smart cabin technology is a genuine novelty — useful or not depending on the traveller, but undeniably distinctive. The bathtubs in all cabins place the Royal Beaurivage in a small group of budget ships that offer this (the MS Alyssa on the Monday/Friday schedule is the other in our fleet). The Lady Lilly Bar gives evenings a social energy that ships without a dedicated entertainment hall cannot match. At $569pp double on the Saturday/Wednesday schedule, the Royal Beaurivage is the most design-forward ship available on those days in our budget fleet.

Frequently Asked Questions — Royal Beaurivage Nile Cruise
What makes the Royal Beaurivage different from other budget Nile cruise ships?
Three things set it apart clearly: (1) the stained-glass mosaic lobby ceiling and LED-lit atrium — the most visually striking interior in our budget fleet; (2) voice-controlled smart cabins (control AC, TV, lights, room service and entertainment by voice or mobile app — claimed as the first on the Nile); (3) bathtubs in all cabins on the Saturday/Wednesday schedule — no other ship on these departure days in our budget fleet offers bathtubs. The September 2022 renovation brought all of this together in a comprehensively modernised ship.
How do the smart cabins work on the Royal Beaurivage?
The Royal Beaurivage markets itself as the first smart cruise ship on the Nile. Each cabin is equipped with voice control technology and a mobile app interface that allows guests to control the air conditioning and temperature, cabin TV and entertainment channels, cabin lights, and order room service — all without touching a switch. The corridors use motion sensors to activate lighting automatically. This technology is confirmed in the ship's official 2024 fact sheet and is currently undergoing continued development according to the operator.
Does the Royal Beaurivage have bathtubs or showers?
Bathtubs, confirmed in the official fact sheet. All 71 cabins on the Royal Beaurivage have private bathrooms with bathtubs. This is the only ship in our budget fleet on the Saturday/Wednesday schedule with bathtubs in all cabins. If you also want bathtubs but prefer Monday/Friday departures, the MS Alyssa (from $559pp) offers the same.
What is the Lady Lilly Bar on the Royal Beaurivage?
The Lady Lilly Bar is the Royal Beaurivage's entertainment hall — a large, air-conditioned bar and lounge with a dedicated dance floor for hosting Galabeya parties, Oriental nights, cocktail parties, and themed evenings. Serving hot and cold drinks and cocktails. The bar opens onto the sundeck area for tea parties. It is one of the more spacious entertainment spaces in the budget Nile cruise fleet.
Can I combine the Royal Beaurivage with Cairo and Abu Simbel?
Yes. The 4-night Saturday from Luxor programme ends in Aswan on Wednesday — the ideal point to add an Abu Simbel day trip by early morning flight the following Thursday. Add 2–3 nights in Cairo (Pyramids, Grand Egyptian Museum) before the cruise for a complete Egypt programme. See our Cairo & Nile Cruise packages or contact us.
